What Every Body Is Saying

by Joe Navarro

Seeing is believing. Communication is not necessarily being verbal. Actually nonverbal communication was powerful indicator to judge what they think.

There are many different parts of our body that can “talk”. Not only facial expression but also movements of our hands, arms and feet can show what we really think. Since certain movements of these body parts are made by limbic brain, it is possible to identify whether he is telling lie or not.

On the other hand, our facial expression can deceive effectively thanks to training done during our childhood. Parents tell kids to make nice smile to uncle even these kids hate him. This is why poker face exist, however other body parts react honestly during game. It would be easier to identify who has good cards by watching how their feet move if they play poker without table.

This book has many pictures that show typical body movements when people telling lie. Learn them and apply at your work place. I would not recommend you applying this to your spouse. Do it at own risk.
